According to GamesBeat's Alexander Lee, those sources describe a Q1 2027 PC window — roughly three to four months after the console launch. VGC framed the same rumor as a PC release before the end of March 2027. PC Gamer called the reported gap shorter than many fans expected, and Polygon noted that Red Dead Redemption 2 took about a year to reach PC after its console debut.

For context, GamesBeat points to GTA V: consoles in September 2013, PC in April 2015 — about one year and seven months later. A Q1 2027 PC build for GTA VI would be a much tighter follow-up.

Why a fast PC launch would matter

GamesBeat ties a quicker PC release to Rockstar's investment in roleplay and user-generated content. The studio acquired Cfx.re — the team behind FiveM — in August 2023, and FiveM runs on PC GTA V. Separately, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg at Tokyo Game Show that GTA VI online launches "next year." Rockstar has not announced an online launch date, so that comment is also unconfirmed.

Rockstar: Nov 19 console date is "definitely" on time

While PC remains a rumor, Rockstar is publicly defending the console schedule. Rockstar North co-studio lead Rob Nelson told Famitsu, as quoted by Game Rant: "I'd be thrilled if you feel confident about the quality. And it will definitely be released on time."

That matters after a long delay trail: announced for 2025 in December 2023, pushed to May 2026, then to November 19, 2026.
