GTA 6 Pre-load Starts November 12: How It Works on PS5 and Xbox
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, and you can start downloading it a week early. Rockstar has confirmed that pre-loading begins on November 12, 2026.
When does GTA 6 pre-load start?
According to Rockstar Support, pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. That gives you seven days to download before launch day on November 19.
Which platforms can pre-load?
GTA VI is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Pre-load is available on both.
Digital pre-orders
If you pre-order a digital version, you can start pre-loading at local midnight on November 12. Digital copies are sold through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and Rockstar Store, and at global retailers.
Physical copies: no disc in the box
This one's important: the physical version of GTA VI does not include a disc. Rockstar says the box contains a download code, and it will be available from November 12 to support pre-loading. If you redeem the code before launch, the pre-load starts on November 12.
Rockstar also recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as your platform account to avoid activation problems.
Pre-order bonuses
According to Rockstar, pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also get a free month of GTA+.
