MW4 Season 1 Full Intel: X01 Black Site DMZ, CSG-35 SMG, Hajin and Zodiac Hit Warzone November 6
Activision has published the full Season 1 breakdown for Modern Warfare 4, and it's a big one. According to the official Call of Duty blog, Season 1 goes live at midnight ET on November 6 (9 PM PT on November 5) on all platforms, bringing a new DMZ location, new Multiplayer maps, four new weapons over the season and the full merge of MW4 into Warzone. We already covered the roadmap tease and Shipment's return; this is the detailed content list.
DMZ: the X01 Black Site
The headline for DMZ players is X01, a weapons facility seized by North Korean forces on the edge of Hajin. The Call of Duty blog describes it as a former GRANIT Arms black site: cargo bays, vehicle depots, underground labs, production lines and a sealed Deep Vault, all linked by a maze of tunnels.
- Shifting hazards and closing exfils: as the facility starts sealing off extraction points, squads must complete set steps to get out.
- New DMZ Orders, with Ghost guiding Operators deeper into X01.
- Threat Briefing to take down DMZ's biggest Boss threats, plus Resupply Runs, per the PlayStation Blog.
Multiplayer maps and modes
Three maps arrive at launch: Backstab, a snowy war-torn town; Canyon, a sun-baked ravine with a river and cliff paths; and a reimagined Shoot House set in North Korea. Mid-season adds Ministry and Overflow, plus the new Counter Attack mode.
On the mode side, Grind and Drop Zone return at launch, and Gauntlet 1v1 Gunfight runs through the Wager Match Event. Before all that, the Halloween modes start now: Possession goes live today, October 29, and Infected follows on October 30, as we detailed in our Halloween modes guide.
New weapons
- CSG-35 SMG (Battle Pass): Activision says it has the highest fire rate in its class.
- Cronen Osprey Assault Rifle (Battle Pass): built around speed with moderate power.
- JAK 12 Shotgun and ZLR Talonhawk melee weapon arrive later in the season, per the Steam announcement.
A simpler Battle Pass with catch-up
The Season 1 Battle Pass is a linear 100-tier track with 100+ rewards. The big change is a catch-up system: premium owners who fall behind are automatically moved up to the reward that matches the current day of the season, up to day 50, guaranteeing 50+ rewards. The blog lists the premium pass at 1,100 COD Points, or 2,400 for the Bundle.
Events
Season 1 events include the Wager Match Event (wager trophies in 1v1 Gunfight, winner stays on), Weapon Camo Events and a Squad Up event that boosts XP when you play with friends, with more planned at mid-season.
Warzone integration
Warzone gets two new maps, Hajin and Zodiac, while Verdansk and Rebirth Island return as MW4 becomes fully integrated with the free-to-play game. Activision is holding the details back for a dedicated Warzone post and roadmap on the Call of Duty blog on Monday, November 2.
