ARC Raiders Update 2.3 Is Live: Soul's Offering Starts, Heavy Shield and Flame Spray Get Buffed
Embark Studios pushed ARC Raiders Live Update 2.3.0 on Tuesday, October 27, and it brings the event we previewed last week to life. Per the official patch notes, the update adds the Soul's Offering player project, the new Noxious Set and a long list of balance changes and fixes. Restart your game to download it.
Soul's Offering is now live
The new player project asks Speranza to stop and honor Toledo's fallen. In Embark's words, every Raider "who pauses in reverence shares in the Souls Offering," as the official trailer posted by IGN puts it.
Destructoid's breakdown lists four stages:
- Vaulto's Offering: Dead Flowers, Rock Salt, 15 ARC Alloy and an Expired Respirator.
- Ferrovia's Offering: more Dead Flowers, Railway Lanterns, 15 Advanced ARC Powercells and 10 Remote Raider Flares.
- Murteta's Offering: Fancy Plates, a Mask Fragment, Insulation Rolls and Fertilizer.
- Honor the Fallen: set off a firework on the roofs of the Santa Maria Houses.
Destructoid says each level pays out rewards, with a Legendary Display Table blueprint for finishing, and that the project runs until November 16.
Heavy Shield and Flame Spray buffs
The biggest balance changes, per Embark:
- Heavy Shield base charge goes from 80 to 90. Embark says usage is "still relatively low" and promises to watch the change closely.
- Flame Spray damage rises to 13/s (from 10/s), and its durability drain is cut by 50%.
- Firefly Burner now ignites on impact when thrown, leaving a fire trail before it explodes about 3 seconds later.
- Adrenaline Shot can be used at max stamina. It no longer stacks; a second shot refreshes the timer.
Emperor, Frigate and loot changes
- Containers near the Emperor's entrance now hold lower-tier loot, with better rewards deeper inside. The Frigate gets the same treatment.
- Dolabra, Bobcat, Equalizer, Jupiter, Tempest and Vulcano blueprints can now drop in any major map condition, at a slightly lower chance.
- The Emperor Key blueprint drops less often from Redirection pods.
- Furniture Design drop rates were inverted, so rarer designs now drop less often.
- The Expedition Vault is being disabled. Items move to your stash, and purchased slots are refunded with Bronze Statuettes.
The Grappling Hook also gets a batch of fixes for wild launches, and Pendola Pass gets more collision fixes around the fallen Emperor. There's also a workaround for a ray tracing crash on AMD RX 7000 GPUs.
Noxious Set and a new patch rhythm
The update also adds the Noxious Set to the store. Gfinity Esports reports that it costs 1,600 Raider Tokens. Embark also says the weekly fix drops that followed Frozen Trail are ending: from now on, expect fixes every three weeks and store updates weekly.
What's next
- Now through November 16: complete Soul's Offering, according to Destructoid.
- This week: the Cauldron and Cultist backpack lineup from our Oct 26–Nov 1 schedule.
- November: Embark expects to share more about PvE (our latest on that).
